SPARK OF MY LIFE

The grief that comes with the death of a partner, especially at a young age, is hardly ever discussed. 

In Spark Of My Life, Paola aims to reframe the notion of death by keeping alive the spirit of her partner Juan Alexander Caraballo, better known as Jonnie Sparko. Through a collection of past and present photography, music, and writing, she shares stories of their twelve-year connection, their artistic collaboration, and their journey with Juan’s illness, shifting the absence into presence and transforming love into legacy.

An iteration of Spark Of My Life was on view as a solo exhibition titled "Love Never Dies", from 24 May to 11 October 2025, at IPC ArtSpace in Miami, Florida.
