Grief has been ever-present for most of my life, due to the loss of a home, the loss of close connections, the loss of the lives of loved ones, of an unborn child, of a life-partner, the loss of a life already built, and the loss of the self — the self that I once was, the self that I had hoped to be.
And in losing my self, I am finding my self.

This series of self portraits is a personal exploration of the ebb and flow of grief and the gradual blossoming of inner transformation.
Like a rose opens petal by petal to bloom, each experience with grief unfolds and reveals an aspect of my self that is rediscovered, reformed, reintegrated, remedied, and revered.
